Welcome to Govi Dinapotha. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.
By using Govi Dinapotha, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the application.

2.1 Information You Provide
When you use Govi Dinapotha, you may provide the following types of information:
- Account information: Email address (for authentication when signing up or logging in)
- Farm management data: Polytunnel names and dimensions, crop names and varieties, batch details, plant records, harvest quantities and pricing, application logs
- Financial records: Expense amounts and categories, supplier names, invoice numbers, inventory purchase costs
- Photos: Farm photos, harvest photos, receipt images captured via camera or selected from your photo library
- Task data: Scheduled task names, dates, recurring schedules, and reminder preferences
- Notes and observations you enter within the app
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device identifiers collected by Google AdMob for the purpose of serving advertisements
- Ad interaction data processed by Google AdMob
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
Govi Dinapotha does not collect:
- GPS location or precise geolocation data
- Contacts or address book information
- SMS messages or call logs
- Browsing history
- Health or fitness data
- Financial information such as bank account numbers or credit card details
- Biometric data
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide farm management functionality within the app
- To authenticate your account using email and password (JWT tokens)
- To display advertisements through Google AdMob
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage
All your farm management data is stored locally on your device. We use the following storage mechanisms:
- Isar database for all farm data (polytunnels, crops, batches, harvests, expenses, inventory, tasks, etc.)
- Hive local storage for app preferences and settings
- Flutter Secure Storage (encrypted) for authentication tokens
4.2 No Cloud Transmission (Version 1.0)
The current version of Govi Dinapotha (v1.0) operates fully offline. No farm data is transmitted to external servers. Future versions may introduce optional cloud synchronization to our servers (api.govidinapotha.com), at which point this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.
4.3 Security Measures
- Authentication tokens are stored using platform-level encryption (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain)
- No credentials are stored in plaintext
- Data deleted by users follows a soft-delete pattern, allowing potential recovery before permanent removal
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements within the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers, ad interaction data, and other information as described in Google's privacy policy.
5.2 No Other Third-Party Data Sharing
Beyond Google AdMob, we do not use any other analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or third-party data collection tools in the current version. We do not share your data with data brokers or marketing platforms.
6. Device Permissions
6.1 Camera
Used to capture photos of your farm, harvests, and receipts. The camera is only activated when you explicitly choose to take a photo. Photos are stored locally on your device.
6.2 Photo Library / Storage
Used to select existing images from your device to attach to farm records. Access is only requested when you choose to attach an image.
6.3 Internet
Required for serving advertisements through Google AdMob. In future versions, internet access will also be used for optional cloud data synchronization.
6.4 Local Storage
Required to store the app's database and user preferences on your device. This is essential for the app's offline-first functionality.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Your farm data is retained on your device until you manually delete it through the app
- The app uses a soft-delete pattern internally, meaning records are marked as deleted rather than immediately purged, allowing potential recovery
- You may delete individual records at any time through the app's interface
- Uninstalling the application permanently removes all locally stored data from your device

8. Children's Privacy
Govi Dinapotha is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@govidinapotha.com.
9. Data Sharing
- We do not sell your personal data to any third parties
- We do not share your farm management data with third parties
- Ad-related data is processed by Google AdMob in accordance with their privacy policies
- We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests from public authorities
10. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can view all your data within the app at any time
- Correction: You can edit any record within the app at any time
- Deletion: You can delete individual records through the app, or remove all data by uninstalling the app
- Data Portability: Data export functionality is planned for future versions
- Opt-out of Personalized Ads: You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings — on Android: Settings > Google > Ads; on iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
